i also think there is a lack of understanding between public and private spaces. just because a location isnt a government owned property, doesnt make it a private space. a gym's common area, a restaurant, a movie theater, etc. are public spaces. it isnt about who own's it, its about an expectation of privacy. if you are in a place with a bunch of people that you dont know, then it is probably a public space. paying $25 a month doesnt magically make the space private no matter how many times someone repeats that belief. now, that doesnt mean that someone cant be offended if someone takes a picture in a public space. that is a personal decision. one that i dont have similar feelings about.

I gather that you are either being willfully ignorant or you just do not understand the FACT that gyms are private and people taking pictures of others in the gym without their consent is going to be a violation.
Its not a hard concept to follow. Perhaps you need to study up on the differences between public and private property.
Now, just because you do not mind having your picture taken without your consent while you are working out is not a reason to disregard the feelings of others. Clearly people mind. That should be respected.
Now if I am working out in the local park and someone takes a picture of me I don't have a lot of recourse because it is perfectly legal for them to do so - public place and all.
