Insulin, aye?
What about cortisol?
Hey, OP. What kind of fat? Soft flabby? Rolls and folds? You have excessive water retention in your body due to water/salt imbalance. AKA edema. Do you have soft rolls around your ankles? Wrists?
Pure "fat" is actually stout mass. I bet it's fluid filled skin sacks.

You're right. Saying that it's only about insulin control is oversimplified.
That's ridiculous. As a person who ACTUALLY HAS a real metabolic disorder I am here to tell you there is no way to lose and keep the weight off that does NOT involve significant exercise.
However as a person who is now unable to exercise significantly due to disability, I also understand the frustration of not being ABLE to do the one thing that more than any other factor helps to reduce and maintain weight - exercise.
Nevertheless, the fact is that exercise is the most helpful thing you can do for your health and body size reduction. Since fat weighs more than muscle it doesn't ALWAYS result in weight LOSS, but it always results in body size reduction. And there's also the whole aerobic conditioning thing. All round, exercise is the best medicine.

False.
Don't eat at all for a week or two and I can assure you that you will lose weight, although something this extreme is not what Dr. Fung is advocating. However, regardless, Dr. Fung has studies backing up his work.
The problem is with the medical community who are bought and paid for by special interest groups or are just outright ignorant. That's okay, the world is beginning to recognize the benefits of fasting. For example, look at who won the Nobel price in medicine in 2016. Regardless, it is more likely they will use their resources to figure out how to create a drug that will mimic the effects of fasting, without requiring people to stop eating.
If you have studies that contradict Dr. Fung's work, please feel free to post them. Anything else is conjecture.
