David Tua was freak of nature. I saw few people with these legs in my gym, but they are all full of roids. Maybe few people can have these quads without medicine
Yeah...Frankly I've seen a fair amount of guys with those kind of legs. That isn't to say its unimpressive. Its really impressive. He spent a lot of time training to get musculature like that. But, it isn't eye popping.
Most naturally stocky guys that lift a lot will have legs like that. I did at one point, and the rest of me wasn't much to look at. I was playing offensive line as a Senior in high school and working as a caddy double bagging 18 holes.
Some hockey players will as well.
Note that I said "Stocky," not short. So, a guy that has abnormally thick shoulders, hips, wrist bones, etc...And that plays into genetics.
If you're the starting center on the HS Basketball team its gonna be a lot harder for you.
I know he has the charitable Polynesian genetics on his side, as well as possibly some pharmaceutical assistance (pro boxer, wouldn't doubt it) but is it possible for a regular guy to get that type of thigh/calf development? Me and him are the same height fwiw, and my hams/quads respond very well to lower body exercises...
Wow, I remember Tom Platz from back in my hardcore bodybuilding days and haven’t heard that name in quite awhile! MR Quadzilla himself... he had some of the craziest quads I’d ever seen! Definitely pharmaceuticaly enhanced but still!
Everyone can improve, but heredity or genetics draws the line at birth at home much improvement. Best to train hard, eat right, stay away from peds, and see what develops.
