Default Body fat %

So, what would you consider an ideal body fat for a 40 year old female.
Weight 164LB, height 5.8.

On april 1st i measured at 32%, holly smokes! I was actually placed in Average position with these measurements. I still think 32% is quiet high!

As stated in my other post, i've been going to the gym every day, for the last month, and on may 1st, i'll be measuring my body fat again, to see if any of my work-outs actually paid off. Actually, i gained about 4lb since then.

22-28 is optimal (average) for women ages 40-50. Your 32% is actually too high.
Hopefully you are lifting weights and doing cardio (and eating healthy) to get your body fat % lower. Also, you must remember that this is something you have to do consistently for the rest of your life, not just until your weight gets lower. Your health will improve greatly and thank you for it. Good luck

That's true, but we still look at the numbers and think we should do better

Just an update.

I got measured at my gym yesterday after 1 month, nothing really changed much.
I gained 2 lb, i gained 1 inch on my chest, i lost 1/2 inch of my hips, and lost 1/2 inch of my arms, nothing changed on my waist and legs.
My body fat went from 32.6 to 32.1%

I'll keep going.....

Your doing just fine. Keep up the good work.

More important the all the measurements is how you feel. If you're feeling great that all that other stuff (bf%, weight, measurements, etc) doesnt matter. Its about being healthy and fit.
