All these posts are so encouraging .. it's great to read what is working for people (and to get ideas, too)!

Back to the water discussion ... I discovered that drinking the 64 oz of water a day helped me lose fat .. it's hard drinking all that water if I don't think about it. Also, water helps keeps your colon and intestines working .. if your body is dehydrated, your system will plug up.

Here are 10 Top Reasons we need to drink water ... not soda, not juice, and not coffee:

Yeah, I have been working on my water drinking. So much easier when I am sitting at work though. Gives me time to think about it. Now on the weekend I didn't so well. I'm just going to keep working at it.

Just thought that i'd let everyone know that I have lost 5 lbs. I'm sure it is just water because I have been drinking so much but it is a good start.

ankc60 is on a distinguished road
Try Dr Phil's Diet he has 2 books it's Healthy and you could get the Ultimate weight Loss Solution food guide @ the library which has your meal plan in it and check it out to see if it's something you can live with there is oatmeal but you could sub it with something else you like Then there's a Ultimate weight loss solution book that helps you with the diet and outlines exercise and other valuable info. Then if you go ahead and do this diet there is also a cook book. I can tell you for sure if you do this food plan and exersize you will loose the weight I have lost some and got off track with the holidays but now am getting back into it. hope this helps good luck. ankc60

This depends......what are your goals? I'm going to assume it's to loose body fat/Ibs?? Morning and before you eat is best as far as cardio goes. Weight training requires fuel...proteins....I workout when I get home after work and after half of a protein shake...typically wait at least 30mins before working out after eating.

yes, my goal is to lose body fat. I only have time to work out during lunch and after work. I was thinking that I eat a little before I work out and then eat my lunch after. Can't do shakes at work but if you have any other suggestions on things that will give me a boost of energy.

Cardio you want to do on an empty stomach, ideally. You can do it anytime but fat is burned more rapidly when there is nothing else to burn. I'd do cardio before lunch definitly......weights afterwards. Shakes are easy!!! It's just a powder that you mix with milk or water.....they even come pre-mixed...however, if you really can't do that then stick with lean proteins such as chicken, fish, turkey.....couple that with brown rice and a veggie and your good to go .
