Speaking of water under a bridge....

Swimming?

Is that considered a best? It gives me a balanced body without joint stress.

Lower Body - squats (a.k.a. "The King")

Upper Body - pull-ups and dips

Other great exercises for the upper body are the bench press, bent-over row, overhead press, and power clean. And a great full body exercise would be the deadlift.

Different exercises accomplish different things. The real answer to this question would depend upon what you wanted to accomplish. An offensive lineman and a marathon runner should not have the same workout routines.

I've heard that sexual intercourse is the best exercise, but I don't know how true that can be; 3 minutes isn't a lot of time to exercise, even if it is tiring.

The BEST exercise and the only one that matters, is whatever exercise you are doing at the time.

Best Lower Body Exercise: Squats
Best Upper Body Exercise: Squats

Squats are just that good. Unfortunately, not enough people do them.
