Talking Anyone here done Nia's workout?

I took my first class on Saturday and was impressed [www.nianow.com]. Not my typical type of training, but I enjoyed the mind spirit work out. I could see myself doing this several times a week as an addition. I had so much fun and my inner child was released.

I did NIA about 10 years ago. It wasn't for me, and apparently not for anyone else as the classes only lasted a few months. Class was too dancy and the instructor tried too hard to force the "spirit" side of this program.

I do Nia 3-4 times a week. I like the combination of dance, martial arts and stretching. It's definitely the most fun I've ever had doing cardio. The interesting thing about Nia is that each instructor infuses the class with his or her own personality. Some are definitely more "new-agey" while others are very athletic. I would encourage you to try different teachers to find if some click for you more than others.

Default The attraction of Nia

I had originally come from a background in Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Improvisational Dance. After spending many years as a ballroom dance instructor, I went to my first Nia class. It touched me to my core and I cried that class....feeling as though I had come home to myself. That was 11 years ago and I just trained this past year to teach Nia. It makes me feel more like me than I feel that I have a right to feel.

I'm so glad that others are spreading the word.

I love Nia. I feel energized and alive after Nia. I teach Nia 2-3 times a week so that I can attend class and so that others can experience Nia. Nia classes are a wonderful place to experience yourself, your body and mind.

Four years ago, out of work, with a FREE Week class pass to a local Nia Studio, I took 7 Nia classes in 7 days and felt like a KID again...I felt alive, vital, playful. I've never looked back! I started teaching Nia classes about six months later. www.nianow.com to find Nia classes near you.
