Default Billy Blanks vs P90x

I want to tone, get good abs, and burn fat-- Im in a 2 Br apartment with NOT a whole lot of room, but I'll make do for exercising for the most part..Cost is also a factor, I like that Billy Blanks boot camp is cheap!

I am a beginner but am very motivated.. I like the energy and motivation Billy Blanks seems to offer, as well as his variety of workout-- Is P90x better?? Or comparable-- input on both is great!!

If cost is a big issue, check out the variety of work-out video's available on You Tube!

I've found lots of good ones that I've saved as favorites. Some to exercise with and some just to be a spectator. (just to learn the steps, of course)

I have been doing Billy Blanks for 5 years. I have no complaints and neither does my husband.

P90x is flat out THE BEST DVD BASED WORKOUT available. PERIOD!! Nothing else compares to it when it comes to at burning, toning, and ripping your abs. Its a COMPLETE program that if you follow it, you WILL see results. Billy Blanks, eh............ is just okay. But it really doesnt compare to P90x.

I agree. P90x is far better. Tony Horton is very motivational and you will need minimal equipment and space. I have done both and P90x is by far way ahead of the game. If you follow the program you will have a six pack(or possibly the 8 pack) in 90 days.Tony will kick your a$$. I have been at it for a few months now and he still kicks mine(and I was in decent shape before I started).

I can only comment on P90x as I've never done any Billy Blanks work-outs. I'm on week 9 of P90x. I've lost 22 lbs, dropped from a 34" to 32" waist and have definitely increased my strength, flexibility and endurance. It is an extremely challenging program but the results are unreal.

It's very enjoyable as well. As 68vette stated, Tony is very motivational. I was a little skeptical ordering a work-out DVD based on an infomercial but it was the best decision I ever made for my health!

All I have to say, is the same thing I posted in another thread:

Quote:
I myself did one (1) round of P90 and two (2) rounds of P90 Master Series before I started on P90X. I am currently in my first round of P90X and almost done with it. I can speak from experience that if your not used to extensive cadio workouts then you definitely should begin with P90. If I had started out with X, It would have kicked my butt!

When I started out on P90 I was 269lbs with about 38% body fat.
Currently 218 lbs with 17% bodyfat after almost a year. Im not ripped right now, but on my way to getting there. As others have said, this isnt just a workout, this is a lifestyle change. You really need to stick with the nutrition plan and keep uo with your workouts every week!

you will not be able to do P90x as a beginner. start off with P90 1/2. you must be extremely motivated for it to be effective- 6 days/wk.

Thats not entirely true. There are people (I know a few of my friends who can) who can do P90X without ever really working out or doing P90 prior to doing X.

It is STRONGLY recommended that you DO P90 and probably P90 Master Series before starting P90x, but it is up to you and how your body will react to the workout routine.

OP stated they were a beginner.

in any event, you can use this as a guideline:
