Hi all,
I was wondering because I've seen tv where really fat people after losing a lot of weight. They have loose skin, it's like falling off no matter what they do. Right now I weigh 229IBS and I wanted to drop off to 180IBS. Do I have to worry about loose skin? I'm 5'7 if that is any help.'

I don't think you want to lose 180 lbs? You'd weigh 49 lbs.
Not everyone has loose skin after losing weight. Go slow, 2 lbs a week and exercise to firm your muscles.
I was told if you lose weight too fast and don't exercise than you will get the loose skin. Your genetics also plays a part in it. People who have the surgery to lose weight will most of the time have the loose skin because they dropped the weight so fast.
If you dropped 180lbs you would make the Olsen twins look fat.
If you lose weight the RIGHT way (diet and exercise) you will not have all that extra loose skin. You usually ONLY see that on people who chose to go the dangerous route - having surgery.
Eat right, life weights, run/jump rope and you'll loose the weight and not have that unsightly godawful extra Sharpei skin flip flopping around on you.
Relax. For one thing, you're not "really fat." What you're seeing and hearing about is people who weigh 400 pounds and up who lose lots of weight and who wind up with large flaps of loose skin.
Begin using Vitamin E oil now. Blend it in with your regular lotion, or if you don't use body lotion, just rub it straight on your skin.
Also, get into a strength training routine so that you'll build muscle to take up some of that space left when as the fat melts away.
I have lost 64lbs and have looser skin. But this is weight i lost after being pregnant. My advice would be to make sure you are exercising and lifting weights to tighten you up.
Large amounts of weight loss are what causes the excess skin. Also, age plays a part too. The older your skin, the less elastic it is. The amount you are planning to lose should be result in excess skin, I don't think.
