Default Bike Riding in Your Town

I love to bike! Not into lots of steep trails though, have older knees.

Just visited Philadelphia area and went on a couple of great bike rides--Valley Forge and along the Perkiomen Creek to Schwenksville. Gorgeous trail!!

What about your town? Does it have some neat trails, too? Away from traffic? Trails that go along rivers or creeks, through woods or forests? Rails to trails?

Love to hear about your favorite rides and trails in your neck of the woods...

Thanks,

LittleDolphin aka The Happy Pedaler

Here in Grand Junction CO we have the River Front Trail that paralles the Colorado River, and for mountain biking we have the Lunch Loop trail system and the Tabagauche trail on the edge of town. A few miles past the Lunch Loop parking lot is the entrance to the Colorado National Monument which features the 21 mile rim rock drive thru the park. These are the most popular trails, but there are many others nearby. The Grand Junction area is a mountain biking mecca. Additionally, many of the streets and roads have bike lanes for getting around town.

I ride every day. I love living in a smallish town because the commuting is awesome! Mostly one can easily ride on our quite city streets. We have a "People Path" that is paved and is perfect for families and recreational riders (or walkers or runners).

Our road riding is nice as well; ~20 minutes out of town and very few cars. We have very nice mtb trails ~20 min. outside of town. I try to get out there at least once per week.

Life is better on a bicycle.
