Wow that is awesome! How was the recovery on that?

I do a mile in about 8 minutes....not too bad but I could improve if I wanted to....

I think anyone who can keep going for an hour, even if it's a casual jog, deserves props. Most people don't do that. Yay, us!

Right now about 4 or 5 miles. I hate running.

Good try. If only it were that easy. With fatigue setting in you can expect degradation in your performance. No way you can maintain the same pace for an hour. Second mile is probably 15 minutes or more, third at least 20 minutes.

My guess is that if you normally do a mile in 10 minutes, if you were to run for a full hour you'd be lucky to get 4 miles in.

5-6 miles. Depending how I feel and if it's a good day out to do it.

Yea, somedays you have the drive to push, other days your dragging, I know what you mean. Sometimes your enthusiastic and determined, had a good meal to get ready for it and have the energy, air temperature is right, pavement is feeling good, limited distractions, etc. Somedays I could probably maintain a 6:30 -7:30 mile for about an hour, others, everything is throwing you off your rhythem, your spit is thickening and your not breathing good, everything is tightening up, etc. Running is different then alot of things because everything matters, at least to me. Sometiems you just need to have tunnel vision and shut everything else out and just listen to that imaginary metronome and match your breathing and paces with it.

When it cools off a bit, or on one of the evenings when the temperature drops, I plan on testing myself on this. Going to set up the Nike+ Ipod for 60 minutes and run this local loop (I prefer running loops) MapMyRun.com | View Balboa Park-Long Loop in Encino, California

Im really curious to see where I can score on this.

I'm not so sure about that... I run about a 10 minute mile, but when exercising I usually get in 5 miles. Running for 3, walking at about 4 mph for the other 2. If I push harder I go even further, just depends on endurance and how I balance walking vs. running.

My best 10K was way back in 1992 or so when I ran 38:27 or something like that. I have no idea what I could run in an hour. I couldn't even come close to that time now.

Miles?!!! Plural? Uh... Little old ladies walk faster than I jog! I can walk 2 miles in an hour, but jogging? That's not going to happen!

But more power to all of you who can and do jog a lot!
