High Impact Sports Bra and workout shoes
I am looking for recommendations for a great high impact sports bra. What I would like to find is one I don't have to practically put my shoulder out of place trying to get it on or off. It seems a lot of them have the racerbacks and I'd like to find on that has an actual clasp that is adjustable. I'm not small so it has to be quality.
Also, looking for a decent pair of running or cross-trainers that can stand a workout 5 days a week and not cost me $150. Does this even exist? I found a cheap pair for now just to get started but I haven't started jogging yet.

I've had a really hard time finding a sports bra that does the job for me. I've actually resorted to buying one that's a size too small for me and it seems to work well. It keeps me in place, kinda. I also wear another sports bra over the smaller one (one that is the right size). I don't know if I've seen any with clasps...hmmm.

Doesn't that make it hard to breath though?

I've never paid $150 for a pair of running shoes. Mine are usually between $80 and $100, and they get a workout about 6 days a week. I wear only Saucony - they just fit my foot best. But you can't take people's recommendations here - my foot is different from your foot; you need to get yourself into a running store and talk to someone that knows running shoes. I would also recommend that if you are anywhere near an upcoming major running event, go to the fitness expo that precedes the event. There will not only be knowledgeable people there with lots of different brands, but the shoes are usually discounted a few bucks for the event.
As far as sports bras, I wear Moving Comfort - one with room in the cups - not a strict compression bra (I hate those). Check out SeeJaneRun.com or Activa.com for different styles (or movingcomfort.com), but the "Dori" bra has a back closure, and is very attractive too. There are others as well. I could never wear two sports bras - yikes!!

lol. It's not comfortable, but it's much more comfortable than bouncing around uncontrollably. I haven't had a hard time breathing, so I guess it's working ok. I just know that I can't not do it, you know. My boobs would be down to my knees in no time. eek.

I've never heard of Saucony, I'll check it out and that's a good tip about the Expo. I know I need to get somewhere and just do it. Just didn't want two toddlers screaming as I get measured.
Has anyone on here ever used or heard of a brand called Ryka?

Yes I have a pair of Ryka walking shoes...in fact I have had several pair, and I love them. They just don't make a running shoe that works for me.
By the way, don't worry so much about getting measured. I wear a size 8.5 in a street shoe, but always go for a full size larger in a running shoe. Room at the toe is a GOOD thing for running shoes (and if a sales person tells you differently - ask for a different person, that's a sure sign he is clueless!). All you have to do is ask a runner about black toenails, and you'll understand why. I lace my shoes loosely too...you want them COMFORTABLE - that is KEY.

I found this website that helps with figuring out what type of running shoe I might need. How to Choose Running Shoes!
I guess I'll probably end up trying a couple to see what actually works for me. What is it that you like about Saucony? Or didn't like about Ryka?

I'd agree with most of that article. Runnersworld.com has lots of reviews
Running Shoe Reviews: RunnersWorld.com
and a new guide each season.
I have a high arch, and I don't pronate (never heard the term underpronate before - you either pronate or you don't) so for me, a cushioned neutral shoe is important. Saucony is known for it's cushiony styles, and wide comfy toe boxes. I just find them to be the most comfortable on my foot. I've tried a zillion different ones, and bought a couple of different brands over the years, but Saucony always feels best on my foot.

There is an EXCELLENT catalog/website geared toward women athlete's and they have a great selection of sport's bras that they have tested and rated.
www.titlenine.com
A good sports bra is pricey, but it's worth it!
