Total as of today is 549 miles. I have been able to really get out since my feet have quit hurting. We are on the go all the time. Haven't kept track of my biking miles though. Only counting actual walking. At this rate I will reach my goal weight in 3 months. I hope everyones still going!!
Wow! both of you, Impressive!! i had a family emergency in April that really set me back, so i gave up the goal but continued walking and added running. in May and June, i reached just over 100 miles each month.
I should have listened to my doctor a long time ago. My feet were for the most part, crippled. It was painful to walk. He said if I lost weight my feet would improve. I limped for over 2 years. In the last year and a half I've lost a grand total of 46 pounds. I worked a 13 hour shift at a very strenuos job yesterday. The only part of me that didn't hurt was my feet!!
It has given me the incentive to go all the way. Even if you don't make the thousand miles, don't give up. I am finally realizing the benefits. When I lose the rest I will post a before and after pic.

2010 YTD: 682 miles
Certainly, my most least successful month-to-date but with very good reason. I was sick this previous week and the prior three weeks have been the busiest for me all this year.
I originally agreed to this challenge because for so many years I was unsuccessful in keeping exercise as a regular part of my life. Additionally, I had such a horrendus prior year, I needed some type of accomplish I could call my own.
As of August, I have been working out on average, 5 days a week, for the last year. I look forward to training for my first race. Plus, a whole host of new opportunities have presented it self that I felt like I've already met the [purpose of the] 1k mark.
I may or may not hit 1k in 2010. I need to spend more time strength training and rearranging my workout schedule; this will likely decrease my weekly 20 mile average which I would probably need to hit 1k by year end.
