I would imagine so...I wonder how much "make up" work would fix the bench version vs. the ball versions...
and you know what else i wonder...why in the world do they makemost at home workout stuff 225-250 lbs total wt limit? That is not much flex roomfor any guy over 6 ft. That always bugged me.

Well, a trend in a lot of gyms these days seems to be toward integrating as many types of exercises as possible into one session - people are always kvetching about how little time they have. So if they'd just slow down and, in cases like this, exercise the arms and core separately, these problems wouldn't occur.

I think most home stuff is designed for women, and not big women, either. Anything more than that, you have to go commercial quality.

As a woman, I love using an exercise ball for weight-lifting because my core is engaged through my entire workout; however, I'm rarely lifting more than 30 pounds at a time, so I'm well under the ball's capacity...at least I hope so. The other reason I like the ball is because I prefer working out at home. I have a small house with very limited space for exercise equipment, and the ball is extremely flexible.

This is not stupid drill, a beautiful drill instead. I used it both in my home gym and in the real gym.
Now I know that extra caution should be raised when I use those ball.

Go back and re-read what I wrote. I stick by my comment that the guy WAS stupid for doing this drill with two 90 pound dumbells. If you're a light woman with 20 pounders its okay, but a professional athlete who was generating force with 180 pounds of weight plus is almost 200 pounds and the forces being placed on the ball, he WAS stupid.

I am a 180 pound guy, a sprinter of butterfly swimming.
Go to youtube and search for "Cavic butterfly" of California race club. He just took 2009 men's 50M butterfly champion in Rome. He do exactly the work out that you described as stupid to be the king of short course butterfly. Even Michael Phelp dare not to race with him in 50M sprint.

You don't know enough of sports to comment things.

There's nothing wrong with exercise itself, but doing so with 180 pounds of weight IS a stupid idea. I use a swiss exercise ball myself for certain workouts, but if I plan on pressing 180 pounds, I use the weight bench and not a rubber ball to do it on. That is just basic common sense. But if I want to do lighter weights (25# or 30# MAX DBs) I would do on swiss ball.

Mine doubles as a desk chair. It's softer and bouncier than a chair, and it forces me into better posture.

This happened at our YMCA a few years ago. He, too, was using weights. http://www.news4jax.com/news/15076706/detail.html
In condo/HOA fitness centers, you can't monitor how they are being used, so I always recommend removing them and notifying owners to bring their own if they want to use them.
I like to use mine as a chair, too.

Use it as a chair here, too. My very active son in particular thinks the ball is the greatest thing since peanut butter, but he discovered in a fit of anger that sharp pencils and Swiss balls aren't a good combination. It was an expensive lesson, because I made him pay for the replacement.
