what do you guys think about the military cold weather parkas i can get them down here used for $65

The old military parkas, OD green, but with a sort of silky (maybe taffeta) outer layer and real animal fur on the hood, were quite good. If you find one of those, it should work. The newer ones aren't as good, have some white and fake fur on the collar, and the outer layer is made of cotton. Buy one that is slightly oversized, not too much, just roomy enough to wear a layer or two of some insulating material should you have to. I do the same for footwear; roomy enough for wearing winter-grade synthetic/wool socks.

well i got most of the gear for cold weather (i think) got the job got the housing now its just 1 week till im there looking forward to getting out of san diego
so what is there to do in fairbanks this time o year
