Craigslist. There are always slope workers selling their old arctic gear.

Used to cold weather in Pittsburgh, PA.? My sister lives there and it is no Fairbanks! Check out this temp. comparison chart. Average Jan. temp in Pittsburgh 27.5 in Fairbanks -9.7 that's a 37.2 degrees difference

Pittsburgh can be cold, but it's no comparison to Fairbanks weather. That being said, if you buy good clothing you won't have too much of a problem. If you want good clothing it might not come very cheap though, if you have to, be ready to put some money into it because if your car breaks down 20 miles out in the middle of nowhere you're going to want good clothing, because you could very well freeze to death. Remember, your clothing could mean life or death, so don't skimp on it.

Yes, all the locals to to Value Village first. A lot of people just put their winter gear in the car and still run around in lightweight clothes while shopping and other errands. Last night I saw a family, kids all bundled up good, but dad was wearing a flannel shirt to walk out to his car....
