Fairbanks, North Pole are the two cities/towns. Hospital, Fairbanks Memorial. You might want to do your own Google research. This isn't some big metropolis like on the east coast.

Negatives are the long cold winters, but the long summer days well make up for that. Plenty of stores in the area. You won't starve or have to go naked. If your looking for a place to live that has all the trappings of an urban, mundane lifestyle this probably isn't for you.

This is probably the best housing price that I know of in the area, from what I have heard. I don't know much about the apartment market but you could look on the Fairbanks Craigslist site.

I hate to be debbie downer, but this isn't the east coast or west coast or mainstream America. This is Alaska, it gets COLD here. Winters are LONG AND DARK. This is not a city where you can drive for hours on end to get to one side to the other. Google Fairbanks, you'll find lots of info. No huge malls or movie complexes. If you like big city life then you won't like it in Fairbanks. Trust me, it will be culture shock from what you are used to.
