Not sure if this is helpful but in a crisis the local emergency room will bring someone in to speak with the person who is in danger/crisis.

Hi,

I'd found that too, (I pre-search where to volunteer before I move, did the same thing here in TX for a Crisis counselor or Victims advocate.)

I found your above group though clicking around and ending up on FT WW site then the Alaska Womens Network.

I will share anything more that I find but, have you tried through the University's website or called the social services department or Psyc department, (I've found universities may have connections to crisis intervention agencies and safe houses.)

Hope that helps somehow.
Jen

thanks Jen...emails have been sent to certain centers...no I was not aware that the university's worked in that capacity. They don't here...we have a underground safe-house program that is nation wide but this is not needed in this situation. What is needed is a group who will provide a location pickup/transportation, a temporary place, financial assistance etc.
if that narrows it down....again we have a network here that I have worked with for many years....it does not however have contacts in AK..many times it is a friend who knows of someone willing to take someone in until they get on their feet.

I know down here in Missouri....safe houses are very secretive. It is not easy to get an address or number without calling the right people and then having someone call you back. Every state has a hotline number and they can refer to proper services. The one that we do have in Joplin...has pretty extensive security and when I worked there....the abuser would call or come by trying to locate the victim. Scary stuff! The local police know where these safe houses are...they often bring the victims to that location.

yes they are secretive and if someone is part of the program they will email me with the appropriate answers...very well aware of the system...just have no contacts in AK...but a safe house is not what is needed....but someone in the program does know the contacts needed for what I am seeking to assist someone..
