This is a very interesting publication from the Fairbanks North Star Borough. It's titled, "Community Research Quarterly," and should be of interest to anybody who is contemplating moving to this area. When you look at the data, from housing to the rest, keep in mind that you are getting the information from the horse's mouth. The pdf document is a booklet that has a tremendous amount of information relating to this borough.

Had to quote that to post again, it was so good. Do other areas of the state have the same kind of info published and put out? It is great to have it all wrapped up in one place.

Hi,
Thanks for this.

I'd been checking the fred meyer's prices online and comparing it to items here to help with my budgetting and so far I haven't noticed much difference in the grocery shopping that I do. However, I have not fully gone through my whole month's worth of items or seasonal either.

I imagine that other boroughs publish their data, but this is the only one I know that publishes it.
------

For those who want the "quarterly" mailed to their homes, the Borough does that if you give them a call. Once you ask, they put you in a subscription list, and every quarter they mail you a booklet.
