Thanks for the info daninEGF.Command always has help wanted signs out. They would even in the 30s if they where around back then.Day labor likes to have lots of workers even if they have no work.Kinda like companies that just collect resumes and never hire.I think I will be able to find something since it is a fairly large town.I will have to stay in the homeless shelter in GF untill I get a weeks wages under my belt and can then rent a room somewhere.I've been told the shelter is one of the better ones out there. They will also help you find a job.I am down to my last 10$ today with no work in site in the town I'm at.So here I come GF.

And I might mention that I'm not officially a UND student I've only been accepted, the only way I can go is if I land a job. I'm not the typical college student, as my parents aren't payin for squat.

Good luck to you too Vleno87.Hiring has become an over complicated and ultra picky affair. In the 90s and some of the 00s I could walk into a company and get hired on the spot. But when there is not enough jobs for everyone if your not ultra competitive you get left behind(one of few gripes I have with capitalisim).

The biggest problem with getting settled in anywhere in North Dakota is that the natives tend to be prejudiced against out-of-staters. One bogus story you'll hear alot is that they or someone they know lives in one corner of the state and has to drive all the way to another corner of the state for work. It's obviously a bogus story and meant to scare you away. It's how North Dakota deals with recessions, simply try to discourage people from moving there. But go anyway and good luck. Every American deserves a decent job and a decent life.
