Fargo Rentals for Felons (section 8, sex offenders, violent crime)

I am wondering who in Fargo,ND will rent to a person with a felony on their record..There has to be some place that does.

Here is a link to Section 8 housing. They should be more lenient than most, but if you make too much money you won't be able to get in. In my area, you can get in if your income is less than $40k, so it's pretty open.

For three years I managed subsidized housing in SD. The subsidized housing (government housing, Sec. 8, Rural Develop.,etc) has a set of rules for felony records. We are not allowed to admit sex offenders, period. Also the management companies usually have a list also, which in our case includes drug dealers - not users but dealers - also we deny violent crimes. The way around the drugs and violent crimes is to show you have gone through an accredited rehab program. I think most landlords will accept the rehab program certificate as long as it is an accredited program. Otherwise you will have to find a small landlord that doesn't spend the money for criminal background checks and that will not happen with government housing.
