I love Chipotle and i am sure several of us do. The closest Chipotle location is 175 Miles from here.

I have contacted them about establishing a store here in Fargo, but since its all corporate owned i believe it takes quite a bit of an effort. So, in all desperation, i was wondering if we can email them requesting a location here in Fargo. Qdoba is expensive and serves crappy burrito and i have tried almost all other Mexican but nothing comes as close as the burrito from Chipotle.

Here are their facebook links and the website

Qdoba is not only expensive, it is not remotely close to being authentic Mexican food. I have never eaten at a Chipotle.

I worked for several years, in Mexico, and have come to realize there are not a lot of good Mexican restaurants to eat at. I have found there are NO chains that actually serve Mexican food. However, there are a lot of "TexMex" crappy outfits that claim they are Mexican.

Qdoba and Chipotle are virtually the same imo. They're both Denver chains, so neither are authentic Mexican food. Both delicious though

IMO Fargo has enough Mexican resturants. The last thing we need is a glorified Taco Bell serving fast foot on real plates.

Are there any good Mexican restaurants in Fargo? Mexican Village and Paradiso aren't very good, IMHO. (I ordered a nacho at Mexican Village and it looked like a taco salad.)

Taco Bell doesn't even serve real food: much of its ingredients come from an industrial factory and mixed into meat and corn. Might as well eat cardboard.

Chipotle food is premium quality: all organic and very tasty. Fargo doesn't have that.

I beg to differ, it does make a liquidy turd thus it must be food.

Unfortunately, the closest Chipotle locations are the two in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Otherwise the next closest ones are all in the suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

I travel to work in the area. Qdoba stores are franchises. In smaller markets such as Fargo, Bismarck, Billings, and Sioux Falls, many major chains forego those towns as their locations are in sparsely populated states. Chipotle restaurants are corporately owned, and the reason they are in St Cloud and Rochester is their proximity to the Twin Cities where they have a major presence.

Franchisees tend to live in the areas and thus have more of a loyalty. Chipotle has better seasoned food and is not as bland as Qdoba. It is not meant to be in direct competition for authetic mexican food. Where I live in Phoenix we have TONS of AUTHENTIC mexican palces, as well as Chipotle, and all the Chipotles are very busy.

I do think Fargo/Moorhead, with it's major college presence could fit the model for a Chipotle, but with Qdoba already there, and the logistics issue, it may not be on their radar screen. With only 200,000 people, corporate may feel they can gain more bang for the buck adding additional locations in a major metro area, where one additional location can be in a radius of 400,000 + people.

Chipotle also requires a liquor license to operate, and wants to be in a core area with lots of business people, per their corporate model, as well as a large on the go population. $6.65 for a large burrito is not expensive by any means. A burrito or the like and a large Izze for just under $10 is reasonable.
