I'm examining a job in Fargo and just wanting to know what to expect from the city/area. I went there once years ago, but just for a few hours and it was mid-summer, so I don't think it was an accurate impression. I currently live in Central Florida (Orlando area), so I'd be moving from a metro area to a bigger town (I guess). I'd probably need to get used to small-town living, but driving all over less. I know it snows a lot there, and I just have a few long-sleeve shirts and a medium jacket now (I have some gloves - somewhere). In the last two winters here it got into the upper 30s perhaps six times total, never getting to freezing. But my wife misses the winters and change of seasons (she's from the mid-West), which is another reason I'm looking at this opportunity. Just wanting to get some ideas from some locals.

Fargo is a great place to live, but it's not for everybody. Why don't you apply for the job, come to North Dakota for the interview and spend some time around Fargo. If you don't like it, turn the job down.

That might be a good idea. Maybe go up in a winter month and see how I tolerate the cold.
