Fargo is the most cosmopolitan city in North Dakota, and there is a large population of young urban professionals who have moved there recently so making friends should be easy. I don't think you'll have to worry about discrimination either. There are people from all over the world living there. Good luck. (Bring a warm coat and some gloves ;-) )
