We are moving up to Fargo/Moorhead in the next month or so. What schools have the best special ed programs for a high functioning autistic/ADHD kiddo? He is currently mainstreamed and doing on grade work with about a B average with accommodations and pull outs for speech and math help. I would be working near the NDSU area and my husband would be working near the south/central area. Would it be better to live in Fargo or Moorhead for cost of living and school quality. Thanks for the help.

I do not have direct experience with this, but the reputation is that Moorhead is better for all special needs kids. From anecdotal evidence, families from smaller towns in ND will move to Fargo for services for their kids, but families already in Fargo will move to Moorhead for more services. In part, this is due to stronger state regulations for special ed in Minnesota as well as better funded services on the MN side of the river.
