Iíve been here for just two weeks now.

Iíve landed a career level job that pays a fair and livable wage.

I watched my insurance, rent, license, and car registration costs drop by as much as 38%.

I experienced North Dakota hospitality that has left me genuinely shocked.

An attractive woman asked me out at a supermarket. The last time a woman asked me out I was a freshman in college.

Iíve given up hope of ever having a clean car in the winter. I did go to the Whale Wash to knock most of the dirt off.

I canít compare North Dakota to California. While I do miss my family, friends and dog Iím happy to call Fargo my home.

So glad to hear this update...good for you for taking the chance...

About the dirty car....that is one of the problems with a warm winter....melting snow and the grunge that comes with it.

When I grew up in Fargo, my grandparents from St. Paul would visit and say they were in "God's Country". Just saying...

Since I moved to Williston, my cars and truck have dropped about 40% for same coverage for insurance.

With the roads out here in the west, I've given up on a clean car.

The road grime has been worth it so far.

Update: While I have a decent paying job in Fargo. The last few days my phone has been going crazy with inquiries for interviews. I feel guilty because Iím taking some of the interviews. If someone offers about 15% increase plus in salary I might jump.

Shopping for jobs is like shopping for cars. You don't just go look at one car and then deal. You kind of check out several models at several dealers and then settle for the best deal.

Make them come after you. You have goals and you have standards and if they can meet those goals, that's great. If they can't, keep looking for that special car.

The cost of background checks, drug tests, training etc. I feel a bit guilty like I've wasted their money should I quit and move on.

I just got back from another interview a few minutes ago.
