Hi!

My hubby and I are looking at a possible move to Fargo in the spring of next year. Let's see if I can make a long story shortish.

I am originally from Texas. He is from Canada. We currently reside in Ontario Canada. We were looking to move me down to the states so I can work. Just like so many people nowadays finances aren't that great and we need the extra income. He is a trucker so Fargo works out well for him at the moment.

My brother is in the Air Force and will be stationed at Minot AFB Feb of next year. I would like to live closer to him than I am now. Fargo seems to be my best bet.

Ideally we would like to rent a house but not being familiar with that area I have no idea where is the best place to look to find info on available rentals. I have tried some online searches but find websites that have little to no info.

Are there any good websites out there to find out what is available? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, lots of great info on that page!
The only realtor websites I have found however only have houses for sale, no rentals.

We could rent an apartment. I have found plenty of those but with two dogs (one small and one large) we would prefer a house to rent.

Fargo, like the Grand Forks area where I live, has few single family homes for rent. Most homes for rent are managed and rented out through property management companies. So your best bet is to contact property management companies. Here is a link from google that lists most of the them. Now some of them only do apartments but some also do homes.

property management fargo - Google Search

Here is one place I found that does have a couple of homes for rent (toward the bottom). My best advice I have given people moving to the GF area is to call one of the property management companies listed as a start and they should be able to guide you.

HOMES RKAK (http://rkakrentals.com/category/homes - broken link)

You can also check the Fargo Forum classified (homes or real estate for rent) or better yet place an ad. Folks having a tough time selling their house may rent it out. Some homes for rent are strictly advertised with a sign in the yard and that's it.

Those would be your best options.

Dan

One thing to note... Minot is about 5 hours from Fargo... there are no diaganols in ND... you may want to check out Bismarck if you want to stay close to your brother.

It's not quite so bad if you head up 52 from north of Jamestown (which runs diagonal straight to Minot from north of Carrington). Drove to Minot a few weeks back and it was about 4.5 hours which included a couple of diaper changes.

I wanna be close to my brother but have my own space as well. 5 hours is much closer than he is now up in Alaska. So 4 to 5 hours wont seem so bad in comparison.

Plus will make hubby do the majority of the driving.. He is a truck driver after all he is used to hours upon hours of driving.

Just a note: The diaper changes were for my 2-year-old, not me. Not yet, anyway.
