I'm sure there's been a thread similar to this, I just don't feel like searching through pages. I am just wondering where I could find a reasonable hotel, to stay at for one night. I'd prefer it to be near any nightlife places to hang out for drinks. A couple friends and I are only going to be in town for 1 night for a concert at the Fargodome and would like to go out for drinks afterwards. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Key point: *Define reasonable*
A couple of hotels are near the Fargodome, and a couple of hotels serve booze, but they are mutually exclusive.

If you expect to stay at a hotel, book as soon as you hear about the concert. I work overnights at a hotel, and I turn away no less than 10 people on nights when there is a popular concert because the hotel has been fully reserved for at least a month, sometimes longer.

I was thinking no more than 60 dollars/night, since we only need the one night. It's for Carrie Underwood. I've been checking hotels online and it seems like there's still vacancy in most. I'm more just looking at location, like where we could go "bar hopping" and not have to pay a lot for a simple cab ride back to the hotel. If that makes sense. Thanks for your response.

Hate to break it to you, but you probably won't even find a Best Western for quite that cheap. I know that because I stayed at the Kelly Inn in Fargo before. lol

You could probably find a motel for under that.

There will be no "bar-hopping" without a $15+ cab fare (disclaimer: I can't give you a good idea about fares because I don't know where you'll be staying, where you'll be destroying your rationality, or exactly how much cabs cost).

Unless you stay at a dump, you will not be spending $60 on a night when there is a country performance at the Fargodome. Hotels raise their rates because they know people will pay it. It's basic microeconomic theory: supply and demand. Furthermore, the best hotels often require a minimum two-night stay in advance of high-demand weekends. Save a huge sum of money and drive home after the concert.

The highest concentration of liquor establishments is Broadway (6st) between Main Ave and 6ave N. Most people under 30 congregate at the The Hub, which is on 9ave S and 25st. The Fargodome is on 19ave N and about 14st. Most hotels are within a block of 14ave S and 34st, and within a block of 18ave S and 44st.

Take my advice, and stop poisoning yourself while you're young.

I saw a room for $57 at the Howard Johnson in downtown, that would probably be your best bet if you want a place to stay that would allow you to walk to bars from your hotel.
