I guess this is the right forum to post this??
I got an ink stain in my beige pants yesterday, have no idea when or how or what kind of pen, but it's blue. I tried everything I saw online - hairspray, toothpaste, WD, vinegar, alcohol, nail polish remover - but it was hours later. Nothing worked. I pre-treated it and washed it, with my regular detergent and Woolite, nothing. I haven't put it in the dryer yet. Anything left to try??

Spray hairspray from an aerosol can on it, let it sit a few, rub with soap and water. it does work.

I got Sharpie marker out of a pair of my daughter's khaki pants once.

I doused the stain with hairspray. Covered with a thick layer of powdered Oxyclean. Followed with a heavy spray of Simple Solution (the enzymatic cleaner for pet stains? there are other brands out there).

Smushed/rubbed it all together, let it sit for ~30 min. Washed as usual, and the stain was gone. My daughter was amazed, as was I !

maybe mine's not aerosol? does that make a difference? (it's melaleuca brand, in a spray pump)
I tried liquid dish detergent too.

Take it to the dry cleaners. You can get ink out really easily with the fluid. I used to have to get out of peoples dress shirt pockets all the time. Its kinda crazy how well it works.

Yep...that was my suggestion too...when in doubt and it's an item you really don't want to ruin, take it to the cleaners and tell them what the stain is.

I have had excellent luck with Clorox II for stains lately. It's the one in the dark blue bottle with a green cap. Even stuff that was missed and went through the dryer came out with this product if you let it sit for 15 minutes. Try it, as I hate that dry cleaners chemical smell and would use this first.

I use Shout for lots of stains. Spray it on, leave it 1/2 to 1 hr, then wash.

A car detailing product like CarBrite's Xtra Duty might remove it. Tuff Stuff is another similar thing and it's sold at WalMart and Dollar General, etc. Xtra Duty gets ont all of those really heavy grease stains & fingerprints, btw. It's great stuff.

They used to sell some kind of spot removers in stores, usually where they had the Static Guard and ScotchGard and stuff like that. I don't not if those spot cleaners have been taken off the market now. They were dry cleaning fluid type thing.

If the pants are not polyester, lacquer thinner might work, or denatured alcohol, or 50/50 alcohol and lacquer thinner. But those are flammable and are aggressive solvents. I'm not sure what they might do to dyes in fabrics.

Thanks all. I let it sit in stuff all day yesterday and last night and have to see where it's at now. I know it's still there. I really don't want to spend more money and time on it so will probably try dry cleaners today.

I used to work in women's retail clothing and we used to use this product called Jinx Ink to take makeup stains, ink stains, etc. -- out of clothing women tried on in the fitting rooms.

Jinx Ink really does work VERY well. I've used it many, many times and it takes the stains out 100% and doesn't harm the fabric.

I linked to their website. They have a 1-800 #number listed on the index page. Hope this helps!
