Love my tanks and wife beaters, wear them all summer long, its hot here. Not to eating out places of course. Best part is if they get stained or dirty beyond washing, I just throw them out and buy another one, they are a dime a dozen....why waste a good shirt when you are working around the house or yard, riding a bike or jogging.....or doing errands in the neighborhood. here in brooklyn, ALL the boys and men wear them, and I mean All...
also, I don't know why women have such a problem with tanks on men, have you seen some of the outfit's you women have been wearing......'nuff to turn my stomach......
I think it has something to do with the overweight guys who wear stained tank tops.
If you have a gorgeous upper body, you'll still look great in a tank top. If you don't, then you'll look even worse.
Sorry, this is just me, but I cringe when I see men without sleeves anywhere but the pool, the beach and working on their own property.
A couple of weeks ago, I sat on an airplane next to a guy who thought who thought his wife-beater looked "tight". He proceeded to rest his hand behind his head and leave his exposed armpit in my face for about half the flight...
In my opinion, no sleeves, no restaurants, no bars, no public transport... I am not a prude by any means, but to me, dressing properly shows self-respect... And the lack of sleeves is a faux-pas that needs to be addressed!
I agree that sticking your armpit in someone face is gross. I don't really care if I see them in a hardware store. At a restaurant or grocery store, no.
A fit man in a wife beater and jeans on a Harley gets my approval any day. I love to see a man with pecs and nice arms.
wifebeaters are the ONLY tank tops i want to see on a man. it disgusts me when a guy, no matter how hot, is wearing a tshirt with the sleeves cut off. that to me, is more trashy then a wifebeater. i think guys in wifebeaters are sexy. especially the black wifebeaters. i like those better then the white wifebeaters.

I agree with this. T-shirts with the sleeves cut off look horrible, even on guys who are well-built. I'm still not crazy about seeing wife-beaters on guys outside of gym settings, but i'd rather see one of these than a sleeveless t-shirt.
I think the wife-beater look is best left to us women (I think the female version is called a 'boy-beater' or something like that).
I don't mind if they're wearing tanks or WB's at the beach or lake or something like that, but have a little consideration and cover up if you go to a resturant or store. Even most beach resorts and hotels insist on proper attire in the lobby or poolside bars. And that includes women. You may think your thong is hot, but other people are trying to eat!

i respect your opinion, I wear these type of shirts, at home doing yard work, lounging, sleeping. When I go out with my wife for shopping, movies or to eat I don't wear them. I don't think they look good out in the town. I think they look too homely for that.
