I wish they looked cute on me, but with my bottom-heavy build, they just have the same effect as any other longer shorts...that of making me look like a butch lesbian (no disrespect to any of my butch lesbian pals). At my work, we are often taking children swimming, and lots of the female teachers wear board shorts to remain as work appropriate as it's possible to look when you're splashing around with disabled children. I've noticed that they tend to look the best on the more straight-figured, tomboyish build, narrow-hipped chicks.

Agreed. I've got a 10" difference between my waist and hips, and I have to be very careful about shorts of any type.
I like that they cut those tighter than they used to. I do not own a single pair of shorts. I go with a skirt if I am needing leg air. Do those board shorts stay up if you are diving or surfing really well? I am sure they feel less creepy than a wetsuit. (I hate the way those things feel)
Yeah, I own a couple of pairs of shorts for exercise when it's really hot, but mostly, I wear cropped pants for exercise when possible. Other than that, sundresses and skirts are my hot weather attire of choice, never shorts. There just are so few pairs that are anywhere near as flattering on me as a sundress is. If I'm gonna cover up when in swimwear, I usually either have a loose sundress that I throw on over my suit, or wrap a batik sari-type scarf around my waist.
Those are cute. Never considered them before. I suppose Sport's Authority or Dick's has them locally versus online. I would need to try on, new style for me. I like them, they seem really comfy.
Do they have pockets?? I'm one of those that keeps car keys in pocket, not in purse.
Oh gosh....I thought you said BROAD shorts and my widening butt was becoming the new fashion statement.
