Basically, if you're going out to do some clothes shopping, which stores will most often give you an outstanding deal?? And hell, why not....which stores almost NEVER give you a great deal??

Also, I'd like to say that this is the best fashion forum I've seen on the internet thus far...it's the only one that isn't hideously pretentious. People here actually admit to buying stuff from Old Navy and Target without being ridiculed. It's good to see...even though Old Navy REALLY isn't my bag.

Anyway...best deals....for me, two stick out:

Macy's - I get most of my dress shirts there. Often times I find them for 13 bucks or even cheaper...and that's included Ralph Lauren a few times. They have pretty good shirts, and their house label is pretty good quality too. I REFUSE to spend more than 20 bucks on a dress shirt. If you're patient, there's no way you should ever have to. Also, one of my guilty pleasures are Lacoste polos, and nobody gives better deals than Macy's when it comes to those.

Dillard's - A few weeks ago, I bought several nice dress shirts there for 7 bucks each. Last year, they had a "final clearance" sale where I bought quite a few Ralph Lauren polo shirts for 15 dollars each. I've never seen that price matched anywhere....not even TJ Maxx. Dillard's tends to go to one extreme to the other: either they have unbelievable deals or nothing.

Marshalls - I realize TJ Maxx and Marshalls are the same company, but for some reason Marshalls just seems to be better. It takes patience, though. There's definitely a lot of crap there. However, most of my dress pants are from Marshalls and TJ Maxx....and quite a few of my ties. They're all the same brands I see whenever I go to Macy's, but they're far cheaper than Macy's when they go on clearance.

So how about you?? Which stores do you find will most often have great sales and deals?

TJ Maxx, definitely. I've gotten a lot of really cute stuff from there, for less than $10 for tops and $18 for jeans.

Every once in a while, you can get an awesome deal at American Eagle. I've gotten jeans for $15 and lots of tops for $7. My latest deal was a nice summer cardigan for $8. You just have to watch the clearance sales.

Marshalls and Burlington coat factory.

I'll agree on macy's.

I'm with you completly regaring polos. Why can one be on sale for 19.00 and be the exact same as the one for 75? at the same store also? But it happens all the time. Never would I pay the full 75, but on some polos i really liked i have gon as high as 40 or 50.

I have to agree with Macy's and Marshalls--and their shoe department seems to be better than T.J. Maxx.

At Macy's I bought quite a few nice shirts for less than $20 each, and even bought 2 for $24.

I even bought a pair of Charles David sandals for $30 on clearance at Marshall's, and found the same exact shoe online at Zappos.com for almost $125!

I would also suggest DSW (Department Shoe Warehouse), for those that have one. When they mark down their shoes, you'll often pay anywhere from 30-70% off the original price. You'll save even more with their coupons.

For sure, Kohl's. They have near-constant sales, with serious discounts. Evidently, they have a pretty lousy track record with fair labor standards, though...but a high rating for environmental responsibility, so I guess it's a pick-your-poison thing.

Macy's sales, Overstock.com(also good for men's dress shirts), bluefly.com

I would say those sites if you are talking cutting the retail cost down.

For daily deals & 10$ and under prices that don't really have quality I can always find things for cheap at walmart, or Forever21, target's clearance.

Kohls always seems to have good deals too. I have been looking there quite a bit.

Didn't see anyone mention Ross yet. You can get some good deals there also. They do have some designer labels too.
