Do you realize how bad it looks? It makes you look like you're still getting dressed by your mom also ! I admit I used to do it, but stopped a few years ago, it makes you look sloppy.

oh rly? hmmm... I wear beaters or muscle tees or plain-t's under my button downs just out of habit. When i worked in NYC and Boston some weeks it was so hot & humid that you'd start perspiring immediately you stepped outside. And sweat stains just looks gross imho. Also, I think guys who're mad hairy & don't wax SHOULD wear tee's underneath, especially if they don't button up all the way.

I can't see wearing one under a polo shirt, but why wouldn't you wear one under a buttondown shirt? Isn't that what they're for?

If you're wearing a tie it is fine, but without I think it's a no go.

I do it...probably always will...cant say I really care about how it makes me look to some other man.

But I tell you what really ruins my week and makes people look sloppy: Those bastards who wear underpants beneath their trousers...I mean really, where do they get off...?

Ok, maybe we have a conflict between round neck tee shirts and v neck. I'm talking v neck that doesn't show.

Funny how this came up the other day (I'm a merchandiser and one line I do is men's underwear) - the women can't stand someone who doesn't wear an undershirt.

It looks sloppy for a man to NOT wear an undershirt under a button-down. A polo-type shirt you could get away with (depending on the weight) but some men really need to either for perspiration, hair, man-boob issues, whatever.

And yes, wear a v-neck tee under polo-type shirts, a crew-neck under dress shirts. Honestly, I don't EVER want to see someone wearing a dress shirt w/o and undershirt.

I ALWAYS wear t-shirts under my button up polo shirts. I just do not feel "right" wearing button up shirts without t-shirts underneath. Now, I do NOT wear t-shirts under my polo/polo type golf shirts (the pullover short sleeve shirts).

V necks can work sometimes, but then you can have a little bit of the v neck visible and it looks like you have a bra under or something. The full under shirt looks sloppy, sometimes you have some sticking out at the bottom, or the neck is way higher then the collar of the shirt you're wearing.
