I'd like to hear all views on this.

I think it's akin to wearing a swimming trunks under speedos or wearing a t-shirt beneath a bra.

What gives? Is it simply a way of hiding onychomycosis or is it some kind of fashion statement?

My 18 year old son told me it was a new trend. So, maybe it only looks weird to some of us.
I can understand because guys get sweaty feet in sandals and the socks would help. It may even be more comfortable.

I don't dress to impress, but I do wear socks with sandals for the simple reason I don't like dirty, grimy feet.

Alot of men (seems to be men, for the most part!) have this "thing" about putting bare feet into shoes.
It does look ridiculous! I don't even like to see hose with ladies open-toed shoes!

On occasion I wear socks with sandles, but only with long pants. And never white socks.

I think putzy is a better way to put it...

The only time I wear socks and sandals is if it is below 50 F and head up to 7/11 or some other one stop quick trip.

Well can't say that to the Japanese culture. Understandable if you wear a kimono or yukata kimono.. Geta sandal with Tabi socks.

Wearing socks with sandals may look a little foolish, but I don't see how it's 'gross.'

Not sure how it's "gross" either. I think it's a little funny, and I make fun of my dad for it... BUT. I grew up in Alaska, so sandals are a little bit chilly to wear most of the year without socks!
