I have been using Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a moisturiser for some time now, however I keep hearing great things about other products like Jojoba Oil and Emu Oil. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I don't want to continue using EVOO if there is another natural product out there that could be doing better for my skin.
A few times a week I use Edgar Cayce Aura Glow (lavendar and almond scents avail). I get it from my local organic health hut. My stepmom gave me some when I was preggo and I would rub it on my belly! I actually put in on when I am still wet in the shower.
It contains Peanut oil, lanolin and olive oil
It soothes the bikini area after shaving. Haven't tried it for the hair yet since I am on the oily side.
I hear Argan Oil is awesome. Just the 100% kind. I'm going to buy some for my hair.
It makes a great conditioner. My best friend, who is Indian, used to use this stuff.
I had no idea what it was until the trendy Hollywood-types started talking about it!
Virgin Coconut oil is the greatest. You can cook with it and smear it everywhere and it's very healthy (don't confuse it with the whole coconut oil on popcorn contriversy). It's great for dry skin and hair, and naturally antibacterial. It comes in a tub and looks like Crisco, but its melting point is about 74, so it melts when it touches your skin, and does not leave you all greasy. It smells like pina coladas. Buy it at a health food or grocery store.
Coconut oil is my favorite just based on scent and how fast it sinks in. I feel instantly relaxed. I like Barleans coconut oil. It has a very stong natural scent to me. I use it on very dry areas and as a pre-conditioner before I wash my hair.

I wonder if it's the same thing as the Raw Coconut Oil I saw at the store the other day. It was in the cooking oil section, next to the olive oil, but in a jar. It was white and looked thick, like partial solid/liquid. Is supposed to be very good for baking and takes the place of sugar. I wonder if that's what you're talking about. That would be awesome. I would smell good all the time!
I use olive oil but I also use sweet almond oil on my face. So far I love both.
I use tea tree oil on bug bites...it really gets rid of the itch. But I don't use oil on my skin normally because my face is pretty oily on its own. Regular moisturizers seem to work OK on my elbows, knees, shins, and feet. But my shins are starting to look a little scaly.
The best natural moisturizer in my opinion is virgin coconut oil. You can get it at the health food store, it must be cold-hand-pressed virgin coconut oil only.
