Yes I wear underwear with EVERYTHING and especially dresses.

Frankly I think it's pretty disgusting to not wear underwear out in public. JMO.

I normally wear thongs, but if I wear a dress I wear panties in case a breeze blows my dress or for when getting in and out of the car etc. No one needs to get a flash of anything.

The only time is is socially acceptable not to wear underwear beneath a dress would be in one's own home in one of those "house dresses" so often worn by the nearly elderly.

The girls, or women, not wearing a lower body foundation undergarment (underwear or supportive lycra/girdle) beneath a dress have historically been considered cheap like the common corner prostitute. It is so common for young women to behave and dress more like skanks and less like ladies today that nothing shocks me. Obviously they either have no self respect or had a similarly bad mother/female role model.

One lesson that seems to have been lost on modern Americans is that civil society once recognized that dressing was to make other people comfortable in your presence and not for the comfort of the wearer. The same with manners. We seem to have lost both for the most part which is a sad statement for our society indeed, IMO.

I don't think making other people feel comfortable in one's presence was the reason for dressing. After all humans have run around naked for most of history and in some parts of the world they still do without feeling uncomfortable.
I guess we invented dressing because of climate, parasites and later on arbitrary morals laid down by institutions like the Church.

^^^Perfect example of a European man hoping to witness women having "Brittany Spears" exhibition moments. Kind of creepy, make that sick, that he hangs about those threads addressing women's undergarments.
