I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many pair of Vans I own (15 plus a couple pair of Emericas) and I'll bet I've bought twice as many through the years. I've had to wear steel toed work boots Monday through Friday for the last 30 years and Vans (or any skate shoe) are like two little pillows compared to the boots.

I had some of the pumas, but I prefer the suede adidas. I also like the vans. I never liked chucks, because I don't think the shoes are comfortable.

The suede Adidas are cool too. What color did you have of the Pumas?

That's why I like skate shoes, even though I'm not a skater or skater-fashon type...comfy padding.

I have a granddaughter who bought a hot pink formal on eBay for five bucks to wear to her Junior Prom. She accessorized with a pair of hot pink high-tops. Girl dances to the music in her head!

I have 2 pairs if Kangaroos and love 'em but they're getting a lil beat up. And they're out of style again so I can't replace them. I have a pink and white pair (I really wanted pink and green, but they didn't have size 8 in stock at the time and I was impatient) and a teal, purple, and lime pair.

I firmly believe that chucks will never go out of style.

edit: I agree that they aren't comfortable though, especially at shows or work when you need to stand for long periods. they hurt all the way from my heels to the middle of my back. ugh!

I got a pair of bright red (high risk red) retro Puma suedes and wore them out last night with a sport coat, a nice button down collared shirt and a pair of casual navy slacks. I had two people approach me out of the blue to tell me how much they liked my shoes. It was pretty cool.
