I've always shopped frugally, regardless of the economic climate...just good practice. I don't shop often, shop for specific pieces, rather than spree-type shopping, or whole-wardrobe type shopping, and I rarely buy anything that's not significantly discounted on clearance.

Clearance racks encourage spree spending in me, whole-outfits in one go, but I know that is bad. When it comes to regularly priced items though I go for specific pieces but I prefer the clearance rack.

There are times though that the clearance aisle does not have many items I am interested in so I end up buying just one item or two. I like those limitations because I do feel guilty when I impulse buy many things at once just because I like so much that I see.

It is usually real world stores though that limit me. Their clearance items are usually limited. On the other hand clearance sections online when visiting a store's website just have so many things I want to pick out.

I also never shop for clothing (or shoes) online. I don't buy anything I can't try on and see on me.

Sadly online shopping involves frequent returns.

This scares me more than the threat of Al-Queda right now.

And to stay on topic, Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe are my go to stores for cheap fashions. And buying on the internet really saves me money with all the coupon discounts and credit card rebates.
