I was curious about it and wonder if any of you have done this?

I have been reading up on it and such, but it is quite pricy. I'd like to get my eyebrows and lipliner permanently done, but I need more advice on it and more info. I was thinking of doing it when I turn 40 (not for another 5 years from now). Thanks...

No but I'm going to take the opportunity to brag about my eyes. I have a black line around my eyes, and it's natural!

I had permanent eyeliner on top, and just lightly around the bottoms of my eyes. It was good while it lasted, but it faded and now it's pretty much gone. I use a magnifying mirror to put makeup on, so I can still see a very faint top line, and I use it as a guide to put my eyeliner over it. I'm not sure if I'll have it re-done. If I do, I'll only do the tops this time since I'm over 45 years old.

I have friends who have eyeliner. I decided against it because of cost, and it can shift and fade. We also have an older Aunt whose blond hair has turned white. She did her eyebrows, probably because they disappeared, and we'll never say a word, but they look insanely stupid and fake.

I have eyeliner (top & bottom) and it has lasted beautifully (had it done in 2002 or 3 I can't remember). People always comment on how beautiful it is.

I also have full lip color and it is really nice not to have to keep re-touching my lip color.

I am always in and out of the hospital and it is nice to have that little oomph when you feel so badly; and it is nice to wake up every morning not feeling washed out. My husband has been very pleased with the outcome and it makes me feel terrific.

Please do your research when choosing a permanent make-up artist- you don't want to have a light, naturally beautiful look in mind and end up looking like a drag queen or a 70s hooker. Many artists offer free touch-ups every few years. I must say that I have never had to make use of the offered touch-ups because I have not had any issues with fading (I had a really terrific artist).

The eyebrows go green, because they don't use regular tat dye. So, it fades in the sun. It starts out brown, but then fades to a green color. The lip liner turns to a wierd orange shade. The eyeliner starts to look bad, and wierd after about 5 years, maybe because of aging. I know this stuff because a woman a work did it, and has all those problems.

There a lady around here whose eyebrows turned purple as her gray ink faded.
She looks pretty ridiculous...

i know two people whove done it. one of them, my boss, has it done and i think it looks awesome on her. the other person is someone else i work with and her eyeliner doesnt look quite right...theres a space underneath it, like they didnt go low enough...and the lipliner is messed up, the lady messed it up. its off at the top of her lip. shes waiting for it to fade out and shes not going to do it again. so it could really go either way. i would never do it. but if you do, id really, really do your research on the person who does it for you.

OKAY! I've read enough on this thread to discourage me from entertaining the thought anymore.

I don't stick to a particular way of wearing make-up, anyway. I may wear a smudgy, sooty black around my eyes one day and a defined liner the next. And I wear many colors of lipstick, match them with my clothes.
