Good point. This look would be part of her gimmick so it would fit her. However, on most other women, it would look like they'd be trying to dress like a ten-year-old.

Super cute!

I am more inclined to wear them with lace up ankle boot type shoes, kinda like this:

Love the girl in the red shoes’ look!

Hate. Too costume-y and contrived.

I hate ankle socks. Knee high, over-the-knee, or tights for me.

I'll leave the 80's in the 80's. Yuck!!. I think ankle socks make young teenage girls and young women look very childish. Perhaps even vulnerable. It's a very young look. Sort of like pigtails on grown-ups

I guess if you are doing a porno you could pull that look off.......

That look was bad in the '80's and hasn't gotten any better.

I agree with JustJulia. I think I could get used to the look if it isn't ruffly or cutsey. Trying to imagine black heels with black anklesocks. Maybe.

I definitely don't like the look in the photograph ~ the whole look is way too 80's barfaroni-cutsey.

However, my biggest fear of an 80's style returning is the frizzy, tight-permed look. I absolutely cannot stand hair like that anymore.

I actually always have had a fondness for the big hair look. Not super-teased, Aqua Netted, big crunchy bangs big hair, but more wavy hair/natural voluminousness without having to be flatironed into submission hair. More the Julia Roberts-circa-Pretty-Woman type hair than Lita Ford, say.
