This was all the rage in the 80's here in CA. I used to think it was a good look, now, I'm not so sure. I think you have to be a teenager or a very young looking 20's to pull it off.

I think they can look pretty as long as the look is not too little-girlsy. Only younger women can pull off the Lolita look, which is the goal 9 times out of 10. Ruffly socks with Mary Janes are very twee--schoolgirl fantasy stuff that doesn't work on any woman over the age of 20 outside of a Halloween costume.

I thought this outfit looked sweet with socks. They're a little more grown-up looking, and the ensemble looks very French to me.

Tall Socks For Tall Women - Tall Women's Ankle Socks in Sizes 7-11

The pic you posted is also sweet, although the shoes are not my favorite.

I've been so afraid some of the yucky 80s stuff was coming back.-sigh-
I'm gonna slap the first chickadee I see sporting those awful starched bangs from the era!

Default Not

This look reminds me of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz clicking her ruby red heels together with those anklet socks. Is the model trying to decide if she's six or eighteen?

Perish the thought! Overall not a good decade for fashion.

Unless you're Katy Perry, I'm going to say no on this one.
