Yeah, it's normal to go for a drink at lunchtime or after work here, so it's very common to see people in central London pubs wearing suits. In mostly residential areas, or at weekends though, it would be unusual.

Its not uncommon to have after work drinks here.
So if in a suit I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

On a Saturday night .... I wouldnt think too much of it either, assume they've just finished at a formal function (wedding, work dinner...whatever)

Weird question. Why do you ask?

Well, I guess if you frequent run down and dirty dive bars that serve canned beers it might be odd to see a guy in a suit. In "normal" or nice bars no one would even notice.

I think "sucks to be him and have to wear a suit to work". I had to do that in my first few jobs, - the heat of a suit in summer, the dry cleaning, the strangulation of a tie...grew out of it when my responsibility and pay increased.
Suits are now for salesman, bankers, and lawyers.

Suits that are well-made and actually FIT are very comfortable.
