Not really. I think of a tall girl, which is the context I hear it in.

Then again, it can be ambiguous and go either way but that's true for both sexes.

I think in women fat looks better than muscles Athletic women aren't very feminine in my view. My nightmare are women like those presenting fitness machines on home shopping programs, yuk
Jill Scott is often referred to as a big woman, I guess even she herself uses that expression.
