Been neglecting my complexion for 50 something years now... don't even have a dermatologist! Any recommendations for uneven and blotchy complexion. I am starting to get some age spots... awful! I don't have a clue in regards to what procedures/treatments work best. Any suggestions? If you are in San Antonio... any dermatologist recommendations? Thanks
I have never been to a dermatologist but I have good skin, so I'll offer some suggestions. It's easier to just use one line, but I use several. You need a good face wash, preferably one that will exfoliate. I would then recommend some type of serum, eye cream, and a good moisturizer. Doing a routine is much more important at night than in the morning. If you haven't been following a routine, you can check out Mary Kay, Clinique, or Estee Lauder. Almost every company has a plan for aging skin. Bare Minerals now has a line out but I find it too drying for my skin. I use a combo of Dr. Denese, Dr. Perricone, Kiehls, and Mary Kay. Most important is using the products every day and getting to know your skin. Once you do that, you may start thinking about botox and other injectibles, but I would first get started on basic skin care treatment.
I don't have age spots but I do have acne scars: Clinique's Mark Eraser works to erase both age spots and scarring. I saw a big difference in about 2 weeks but the lotion did lead to breakouts which may lead to more scarring. :/ If you don't have sensitive skin, it should work great all around. I have also used Oil of Olay's microdermabrasion kit and it really helps even out skin tones. My mother is in her early 60s and swears by Clinique's Hope in a Jar to keep her skin moisturized; it does wonders to keep her looking youthful because her face is always fresh and illuminated.
