Yeah this is really annoying. Curvy is someone who has an hour glass body type. This is determined on the bone structure and boobs and bum which can give the impression of hourglass as well. The waist has to be at least 10 inches less than the hips and boobs to qualify as 'true' hourglass, only 10% of women have ''true'' hourglass figures. Slim and thicker people can both be curvy or ''hourglass''- it has NOTHING to do with how much fat or weight someone has.

Its annoying though because most bigger women claim to be hourglass and some use this to put down slimmer women. Overweight women (not thick) are more likely to have 'apple' body types due to the weight that collects on the stomach- which gives curves but outwards like an apple.

Im slim, but im technically an hourglass body type as my waist is 10+ inches less than hips and bust.

Agreed!
I'm amazed at the amount of ladies who claim to have curves, when in fact they are just obese with weight hanging everywhere.
Apples who wish and pretend to be pears. Come on ladies!

I know!! I get that some overweight women can have curves, but for those who just have lumps need to stop.

For hourglass you also have to compare the waist against the boobs, otherwise it's just pear. Non-hourglass or pear would be considered thick, thin, or apple (waist bigger than boobs and hips).

Yeah, it's one of those euphenisms women like to use, which serves to basically make them sound better.

Like "plus size"

Unless you are looking at them in interest, who cares what you think. It's for the men to decide. Well....and I guess lesbians, too.

What are some examples of a "plump" woman to you? Names and/or pictures would be great.

Kim Kardashian is curvy.
Sofia Vergara is curvy.
Serena Williams is curvy.
Katy Perry is curvy.
Queen Latifah is NOT curvy.
The unattractive Judd sister is NOT curvy.
The chick in Precious is NOT curvy.
"Plump" women are NOT curvy.

Get the picture? Notice the pattern? The problem really is with people who are ashamed of what they are. If you are fat, you are fat. Dont try to pretty it up by coining another term/phrase for it. You are fat. Same as if you are skinny. Dont try to call it something else. You are skinny. There is no reason to get offended if someone calls you fat, just as there is no reason to get offended if someone calls you skinny. That is how you are. If you're happy with your body, then great. If not, do something about it.
