I think that was the style 2- 3 years ago. Now double-breasted, which I find ugly, are the trend.

I've preferred double-breasted suits all my adult life (I'm in my 50s). I haven't bought a suit since the late 90s; seems to me that they were falling out of fashion then.

Some people can pull it off. Maybe you are one those people - so don't sweat.
I guess I should add that double breast don't look flattering to me due to my height (5 7).
It has a tendency to make people wide - not very flattering for a short dude like me!
But yeah it is coming back now.

To the OP - if this is a good quality suit and you have the money for it and the build to carry it off, I say buy it and don't worry about whether or not it's "in style" or the current trend. It's a classic look and very sharp and the most important thing is that you wear it confidently!

The OP is from over 2.5 years ago. Hopefully he has made a decision since then. Although I do know some people who can be pretty indecisive so you never know.

LOL I didn't catch that! Hopefully he's been wearing that suit for approximately 2.5 years - I mean, not continuously, but intermittently.

No, I did not buy the suit. I was considering buying it because one was at a used store.

I don't know what the lady was rambling about relating to the military suit.

It looks classic and conservative. The high button cut resembles military dress uniform. It looks good on someone lean and tall. The one shown in your photo looks very well made with good fabric as well. Go for it if it suits your body type.
