I have traveled around the world, and people do dress (and look) differently, even between the other English-speaking countries.

Not like I would be able to detect an Australian from a Californian, but there are "Certain looks" that are more prevalent in certain regions. Weather of course plays a large role.

In my opinion, the "Plain Jane" look is very prevalent in the UK, New Zealand and small-town Canada.

The "Big Hair" look is very American, especially in the small towns and the South.
Same with "fake" or acrylic nails..do British or Australian ladies do their nails ?

The British ladies definitely have a more Euro-flair to them, but the weather is key in that, in my opinion- as you do see that slightly "Euro-inspired" (scarves, layers, frills, etc) in the Northern US cities and in Canada too.

But I still believe their is a certain look in some places. For instance, in regards to the older White lady, I feel that Camila Parker Bowles (sp?) really has that "British look"..and that Anne Murray for instance really has that peaceful "Canadian look" (like you see alot of ladies in that age bracket resembling that look in their respective countries)...and Paula Deen really looks like one of those Southern-types! and so on..

I think this subject has already been covered in previous threads. Yes, I do find people in different countries dress differently from one another. I think it's only natural for styles to be regional. Even in the U.S., people dress differently from one region to another.

Yeah we wear kangaroo skins downunder, in contrast to the feathered headdresses they wear in America.

Americans and canadians are more similar to one another

Australians are a world of their own

british are different but a lot more similar to australians than to americans or canadians

I think out of all those four countries

Americans are the most different ones

My family from Australia look a bit different from my family here in the U.S.

From my impressions, they seem to have better taste in clothes, and their attitude seems more laid-back and innocent.

Australians and British are uglier, both are islands where inbreeding to keep it Anglo was the norm

Americans are more diverse looking, we're more mixed so we have a diverse look, the americans that are mostly fat and unhealthy looking are actually of pure anglo heritage like australians or british, but their a minority.

Majority of America is mixed with italian, french, spaniard, africa, latin american, jew etc.
