My comment was not directed at women. What I really meant was that men do not have the freedom in fashion that women have. For instance, in a dressy/formal setting women can wear whatever colors they want yet men are supposedly restricted to certain dark colors only. It is not just dressy/formal settings either.

Ah..that makes more sense. I was thinking you were talking about how tough men have it WRT comfort levels in dressing.... I don't think that men are always "restricted" to dark colors though. Especially in the summer or in warmer climates suits of lighter colors and fabrics are very accepted.

Get rid of ties and bring back ascots-they're quite Continental. Or turtle necks-nice and warm.

Ive seen rock guys wear them and think they can look good with just about anything. Not only in movies or in concert, but even at the Guitar Store, Ive seen lots of guys in music stores wear ties and jeans, and they actually look pretty good.

Yeah, I don't care about wearing a tie. It doesn't serve a purpose like the OP said.

Baseball caps and dorky d-bag visors worn in bars don't serve a purpose, either, and I rarely hear guys complaining about them.
