Buy it if you want but i wouldnt recommend going to any PETA functions
Disdain for fur has gone way past PETA to average people. It's an emotional issue, many people really hate fur and won't hesitate to say so. A fur coat is just a bad idea for a young college student just starting out in a new city, looking to make new friends, especially when there ares so many very stylish, and warm options that won't make one a target to so many people. A coat like that could even cause someone to not get an internship, or needed job, a professor may look down on them, that's just reality. So many people from all walks of life are opposed to fur, and will hold it against the wearer. Wearing a coat like that means you truly do not care what people think of you, even if what many think is that you are heartless, and have poor taste. That coat makes a big statement, not everyone will see it as a simple warm coat, in many cases it will be perceived negatively, it's not the right choice if you just want to have a warm stylish coat to wear around the city.

Ok here's what I don't get. Why do people complain about fur while leather gets a pass? No one bats an eye at a leather coat but a fur coat gets the animal rights activists in a tizzy. I really don't understand that.
Yeah, I'm definitely not rich either. I just inherited a little money from my late grandma.
But anyway, no need for anyone to go off on a tangent. I was not being belligerent or 'trolling'-rather simply looking for opinions on the style of the coat and asking advice on whether or not the coat would suit.
Personally I think if you inherited money from your late grandma, you should think about her when spending the money. I am thinking most grandmas would want you to use the money wisely and not $4500 on 1 item of clothing! $4500 for a coat is a ridiculous waste of money. There are so many other things that money could be spent on.
If I inherited money from my grandma I would want to honor her by using the money for something useful - charitable contribution, tuition, savings, etc.

The justification is usually that the meat is eaten anyway. The eating of non free range chicken is one of the cruelest thing humans do, but chickens aren't warm and fuzzy so people don't talk about it. For most who only oppose fur it's that they feel it's so unnecessary, the meat isn't needed and there are so many other options for coats.
