I'm going to be going back to school in NYC next fall and would like a warm and glamorous coat. What do you think of this coat-does it look tasteful and not matronly or tacky? I don't want to stick out like a soar thumb(from my understanding and observations people still wear fur in nyc quite a bit)

...you're going to spend $4500 on a COAT? Sheesh. That would be the down payment on a pretty nice car, or better left in a CD account or something. Also, be careful- some people (PETA) have been known to throw paint on fur coats like that.

wow, what a beautiful coat! It kind of looks like a coat my mom has that cost her 1,000 back in the 80's!

Either way, I agree with Jordan..as I sit here trying to figure out how to pay for school (since I just got accepted to the UofA), I'm think your 4,500 dollars could go towards a year of rent for me while I attend school since my grants will cover enough to pay tuition but no living expenses.

Invest the money instead of spending it on a coat that could easily cause you to alienate many of your classmates.

And a whole lot of other people.

I had a fake fur coat that didn't look fake. (Fox, BTW.) It was a gorgeous coat but I got so tired of people's comments (total strangers - many of whom were pretty vocal) I quit wearing it.

That's a lot of money. Invest it.

Product Details - mink long coat
That coat reeks of ostentation.
Who wears real fur anymore besides the blue-haired set?

NOBODY wears fur in Manhattan except a woman over 50, most over 60. I haven't seen any young women wearing long minks in years. Fur is considered very declasse.

It's beautiful fur. Too bad it's not in the minks, where it belongs.

Hmmm. Is it possible a new member is just trying to um... rub people the wrong way?

Much too much coat for a young woman. In order to pull off a fur coat at your age it should be shorter and vintage.
